چکیده

A notch filter for the rejection of stray light from gigahertz range heating sources was developed to protect a vulnerable microwave plasma diagnostic system. As one of the applications, we consider the installation of the notch filter into the receiver of a collective Thomson scattering diagnostic in the Large Helical Device. Experimental observations indicate that two types of notch filters are required for main and spurious mode rejection; they have very narrow, steep shapes to avoid disturbing the diagnostic signal. On the basis of numerically simulated results, notch filters were fabricated, and their performance was evaluated. An attenuation level of 35 dB at 74.746GHz with a 3 dB bandwidth of 0.49GHz is achieved by two pairs of resonator cavities. This attenuation is acceptable in our study.

Notch Filter Options for ITER Stray Gyrotron Radiation

ITER will have multi megawatt gyrotron systems at 170, 120, and potentially at 60 GHz for ECH, current drive, NTM control, start up, and CTS diagnostics. The ITER environment will therefore have significant background levels of stay radiation at these frequencies that can pose a problem to a number of diagnostic systems. Several deep, narrowband reject filter approaches have been examined. Thes...

UWB Band Pass Filter with WLAN notch

In this paper, UWB technology operating in broad frequency range of 3.1-10.6 GHz has shown great achievement for highspeed wireless communications. to satisfy the UWB system requirements, a band pass filter with a broad pass band width, low insertion loss, and high stop-band suppression. UWB band-pass filter (BPF) with wireless local area network (WLAN) notch at 5.8 GHz and 3-dB fractional band...

Chapter 3 . High - Frequency ( > 100 GHz ) and High - Speed ( < 10 ps ) Devices

The millimeter-wave and THz frequency (f > 100 GHz) range remains one of the most underdeveloped frequency ranges, even though there are a great number of potential applications in remote sensing, spectroscopy, plasma diagnostics, and communications. This is because the millimeter wave and far-infrared frequency range falls between two other frequency ranges, the microwave frequency range and t...

Broadband notch filter design for millimeter-wave plasma diagnostics.

Notch filters are integrated in plasma diagnostic systems to protect millimeter-wave receivers from intensive stray radiation. Here we present a design of a notch filter with a center frequency of 140 GHz, a rejection bandwidth of ∼900 MHz, and a typical insertion loss below 2 dB in the passband of ±9 GHz. The design is based on a fundamental rectangular waveguide with eight cylindrical cavitie...

A Novel Compact Dual Notch Band Filter Based on Metamaterial Concept

Using composite right-left handed (CRLH) transmission line concept, a novel miniaturized dual notch band filter (DNBF) is proposed. The suggested DNBF consists of an interdigital transmission line (ITL), split ring resonators (SRRs) and complementary split ring resonators (CSRRs). Since the resonance frequency of the SRRs and CSRRs are quite independent of each other, the dual notch bands of th...
